American Warrior Outdoors
American Warrior Outdoors is a 100% veteran-owned and operated nonprofit organization dedicated to reconnecting veterans and active-duty service members with the healing power of the outdoors. Our mission is to provide outdoor experiences that foster camaraderie, mental clarity, and a renewed sense of purpose.
Through fishing, hunting, and other outdoor adventures, we offer opportunities for veterans and military members to step away from daily stress and rediscover peace in nature. Since receiving our nonprofit status in 2024, we've proudly brought hundreds of warriors into the wild—building bonds, sharing stories, and creating lifelong memories.
At AWO, we believe the outdoors isn’t just a place—it’s a path to healing. Whether it's casting a line, tracking game, or simply sitting around a campfire, our trips are designed to strengthen the mind, body, and spirit. We partner with guides, captains, landowners, and fellow patriots to ensure these experiences are meaningful and, whenever possible, provided at little to no cost to our participants.
American Warrior Outdoors is more than an organization—it’s a community. Join us as we serve those who’ve served us, one adventure at a time.

Paul Hewitt Jr - Founder
US ARMY - Disabled Veteran
I’m a proud U.S. Army veteran and the Founder of American Warrior Outdoors. Born and raised in Cape May County, NJ, I’ve always found peace and purpose in the outdoors. After experiencing firsthand the healing power of nature, I started American Warrior Outdoors to share that gift with other veterans and active-duty service members. Through fishing, hunting, and outdoor adventures, we’re building a community where warriors can reconnect, recharge, and rediscover their strength—together.
